Grand Theft Horse

YouTube: Grand Theft Horse (via Superlevel)

Vimeo: Noisy Typer - a typewriter for your laptop.

Hübsches F.A.T.-Projekt von Theo Watson, (bisher) leider nur für Mac:
Noisy Typer is a free piece of software which plays typewriter sounds as you type. It runs in the background and works with all applications ( email, web, word etc ). Key sounds include: letter keys, spacebar, backspace, carriage return and scroll up and down.

The 2.4Ghz project uses a wireless video receiver to hack into wireless surveillance cameras. This device (which is now part of consumers popular products), can be used for wireless surveillance cameras, but it can also be used for parents to monitor their children. Such systems are becoming more popular as they get cheaper. But what most users of those devices don't realise is that they are broadcasting the signal. This project (on-going) has several layers. Initially, I have been walking around different towns in Europe to collect and record footage received with the device ... The second part of the project ... consists of placing the device in the street to reveal the presence of the cameras and to make obvious the fact that anyone can receive those signals. The third stage of the project consists of a series of workshops: 2.4GHz Workshop, where participants are invited to explore the CCTV wireless networks of their city by searching and recording 2.4GHz surveillance video signals. The recorded material is then compiled into a movie of the event.

Circle Bike Dude

Interessante Konstruktion, irgendwo zwischen Fahrrad und Kotzorgel.
"He never gives it away. Circle Bike Dude's worked hard to engineer this contraption... it's really kind of an incredible machine. If you see him at night he's got a killer light set up on his Circle Bike now. It definitely adds to the experience. I see Circle Bike Dude everywhere the action is day and night. Rock on Circle Bike Dude!"

OK Go: Needing/Getting – Auto als Musikinstrument

YouTubeNeeding/Getting (via I Heart Pluto

"OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they'd play the right note no matter where they were struck .."

Years: Holzscheiben als Schallplatten

Vimeo: YEARS via (Creative ApplicationsPolkarobot)

A record player that plays slices of wood. Year ring data is translated into music, 2011. Modified turntable, computer, camera, acrylic glass, veneer, approx. 90x50x50 cm.

Walking the Streets of Barcelona with a Handheld 3d Scanner

Kinect Experiment: Freezing Han Solo

YouTubeDirektKinectExperiment (via Make)

"This is an experiment with Kinect and Processing. People in front of it are posing like Han Solo and get frozen in 3D. We are already exporting the 3D models for 3D printing. So stay tuned. The software will be open source soon if anyone is interested"
